New Laundry Detergent Recommendation

I just received an e-mail from my sister about a new laundry detergent she just discovered...Cheer Bright Clean, she said she just used it on her white bathroom rugs and they were so bright and white and she did not have to use any bleach. Thought I would pass this on while I was thinking about it. I can't wait to get some of this and try it on my whites, I bleach everything to death. I also hate using bleach on my old table linens and will be excited to see if this will take the stains out they get when you have not used them in a while. I will report back on my findings. I love a good cleaning tip.

New Recipe to try

Snow day and I have a few minutes to do a little blogging. Thought you might enjoy this recipe I made recently for my January girlfriend's birthday dinner. It was very easy and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Also good if you have someone who is gluten intolerant.

From Paula Deen:

Hot Chicken Salad

2 cups cooked chicken breast meat, cubed

1 cup diced celery

1/2 c slivered almonds

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of pepper

2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice

1 cup of mayonnaise

1 cup grated sharp Cheddar

2/3 cup crushed potato chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13 x 9 baking dish with vegetable oil cooking spray

In a large mixing bowl combine the chicken, celery almonds, salt, pepper, lemon juice mayonnaise and cheese. Place the mixture in the baking dish. Spread the crushed potato chips on top. Bake for 20 minutes or until bubbly.

Recipe says it serves 8 to 10 - I had 10 for dinner and doubled it. That was the right amount.

Served it with a spinach salad, bread and a few bottles of wine. It was so easy. Can also be made the day ahead.

Sold in 1 Day - New Listing Info - Bargains of the Week

Was busy this week and have not posted, so here's a summary of what's been going on. Sold my new listing in River Place in 1 day. Started showing it on Saturday and had it sold by Sunday at 7:30. I had 22 groups of people through my open house and have had a number of folks call me this week inquiring about the status of this property. I believe we are going to see the market start to pick up. Another agent had a property in the River Road Corridor that was listed for $2,400,000 and that one sold in about 2 or 3 days. I have put my 5419 Cary Street Road listing on the market and will start showing it on Friday, February 5. It is priced at $2,595,000 I already have 3 appointments scheduled. Hope I get lucky on this one and sell quickly. This is a really fabulous house with every amenity imaginable. If you know of someone who is looking for a really special property pass this on to them. I am also putting my River Lake Colony listing back on the market next week and that one is going to be $1,599,000. This is about 9,000 square feet of perfection and beautifully done. I did have a couple of minutes on Monday when I was out and about to run in and return some things to Marshalls. This is a really great time to search their clearance racks for some great deals. I bought a long black sweater by Vertigo Paris that had the manufacturer's tag on it for $238 and I paid $29. Picked up a great linen Ralph Lauren Tunic for spring for $20 that retailed for $89 and a pair of black Ralph pants that are really all year fabric for $20.

New Listing in River Place and Cary Street

Just listed 9123 Carterham Road in River Place. List Price of $675,000. First and second floor master. Four or five bedrooms. 4379 Square feet. This house is in immaculate condition and shows beautifully. Lots of nice built-ins and millwork. Arched doorways nice and open a great house for entertaining. I already have 3 showings tomorrow with 2 more agents who want to show on Sunday. Sure would be nice for this one to go quickly.

I also am getting ready to put a great house on Cary Street on the market the first of February. This one is really a beauty and will be in the $2,600,000 to $2,700,000 not quite sure of the price today. More details to follow on this one.

Great Deal on Orchids & New Listing Coming on the Market

Just came from Kroger. They have a great deal on Orchids. The large size is $19.99 and they are pretty big. The smaller size is $9.99. They looked very healthy and had a nice variety. A great way to add a little life to our houses in January and February after the Christmas decorations have been put away. With proper care they should last until Spring when the bulbs start to pop.

Also, getting ready to put a great house on the market in River Place. Just under 4400 square feet with a first and second floor master. Gracious sized formal rooms, Lovely family area with family room, eat-in kitchen and sunroom which opens to a deck and fenced yard. Beautiful arched doorways in this area really add to the architectural interest and make this very attractive just to enjoy your family or for entertaining. I was shopping with my sister recently and she found this $900 Adrienne Vittadini handbag for $79.99 at one of our favorite discount stores. Fortunately there were two of them so we could each participate in this bargain. I may have to run through there later today to see what's new for 2010.
